I left Oslo by plane from the International Airport at Gadermoen. It is located about 50 km north of Oslo. There are various options to get to and from the airport: Airport Express trains (FlyToget), regular trains, airport buses (SAS and NOR-WAY) and taxis. Please read also my "Tourist Trap Tip".

Number 92, 93 and 94 start at Vippetangen and serve various other islands, including Gressholmen. All public transportation tickets are valid on the public ferries.

I went to Oslo by bus from Stockholm in Sweden. The bus company Swebus Express offers a bus service between both cities and the trip takes about 7,5 h. Depending on the day of travel a single ticket from Stockholm to Oslo is between 265 SEK and 380 SEK (2004). The Bus Terminal of Oslo (Vaterland) is located just next to the Central Railway Station.
